I've just watched the Sky miniseries "Riding The Dales" in which Will Greenwood, Jonny Nelson, Sarah-Jane Mee and Elise Christie take on The Yoerkshire TdF stage 1.

I quite liked it, but was appalled by the lack of consideration for other Road users at some points. 3 abreast, chatting away, with a string of cars stuck behind them.

Who was filming them at this point? Perhaps a bluddy great big landrover matching their speed directly in front with a cameraman hanging out of the back?

Did they jump any red lights?

Honestly, not trolling. I watched all 3 episodes and liked it on the whole, but there were more than a few points that had me thinking "you must really be pissing those drivers off".

Having just ridden the castle100, where I was pleasantly surprised how well mannered nearly all the riders and car drivers were, it really stuck out to me. On a 2 lane rural road, 3 abreast wobbling over into the other carriageway chatting away with 10 cars behind you certainly isn't the way I'd do it. As a showcase programme for road cycling, I'd have thought a thorough brief on sensible riding would have been in order.

OP they generally have a car or three at the back blocking the traffic

Fair enough - it just looked poor.

On those roads they probably would have all pulled over for traffic immediately after each short filming section, especially with a few slow moving 4x4 cars full of film crew in tow. in many places it would have been impossible to overtake the crew cars anyway, unless they pulled over.
