Whats available - irrespective of lead times? My Orbea Wild FS weight a tonne, so im considering a lighter weight alternative, however apart from the Specialised Kenevo SL, which would require a mortgage, and the Orbea Rise i dont really know any other options.

I had a Wild FS and sold it after a bad crash. I now have a Levo SL and it is much better for my type of riding, plus I can lift it over gates when I need to !

Interesting you've ridden both. Whats the assist like on the Levo compared to the Wild?

I believe the Levo SL and Rise are the better options, but there are more.. STW Charged

totally different TBH. I ride the SL on Trail most of the time, which is about half the assist of Trail on the Wild FS. Turbo on the SL approximates to about the same as the full fat bike on trail mode, however it is rarely needed as the bike is so much more light and nimble. I only use turbo for the odd 30 seconds or so here and there to get up a silly steep section on when my HR is going higher than I want it to..

Forestal have lots of pretty pictures of lightweight eebs on their website. There may even be a few actual bikes in existence now. Sam’s Bikes did a short vid on the Syrion recently.

Fairly sure they are supplied with a cover so it can be used without the battery as a standard mtb, and actually in stock unless you're after a large

I've got a wild fs, and have ridden a levo sl and an orbea wild.

I didn't like the levo sl, it felt very underpowered, sometimes when you increased the assist it felt like it just increased the noise levels but there was no increased assist.

The rise is much much better, very near to full fat power but a lot less weight.

If you're thinking between the levo sl and the rise, get the rise.

The Rise doesn’t feel massively different to a normal EP8 bike in my experience, but I put that down to the EP8 feeling underpowered compared to the current Bosch & Brose motors. They are significantly more powerful in real life Vs paper numbers.

The Rise and the Levo SL feel very similar in terms of actual ‘riding’ but then they are both fairly restrained trail bikes in terms of geometry.

Hands down the best riding ebike I have ridden is the Kenevo SL. As a Gen3 Levo owner, I’m in the process of selling it to go for the KSL. I ride mine with the power turned down so far it’s pointless me having it & a 700wh battery. I’ve still done days where I can get nearly 2km vert out of the Kenevo & have a much nicer time riding it back down trails.

I am not your typical ebiker though (insert stereotype here) 😆
