Iam looking at booking a skills course in the near future, as I live in the very flat area of Lincolnshire I know I will have to travel.
Nearest good trail centre is dalby but I don't think they do any courses. Was looking at coed d brenin but the date I was looking at only has the flow and ride I would rather do the essentials course.
Anyway found skills and thrills course at Cannock chase, anyone know if it's any good??
. It's £50 when most other places are £90-£120 do a bit dubious if it's any good.
Cheers
A-Line coaching in Sheffield?
If its your first skills course £50 might be OK. Look at the ratio of riders to the teacher.
But if you want to really learn, get a one to one with someone who is highly recommended.
Jedi, aka Tony @ ukbikeskills.
He's not the cheapest but he is the best. Guaranteed to progress your riding in a chilled out, confidence boosting way no matter what level you are at.
If you're put off by the cost then book yourself on to a public day, you'll still learn a huge amount
Just ask around, you'll see what I mean
Yep Jedi you wont regret it.
Cheers guys
. Ukbikeskills might be the best but private session is pricey, public day looks like the ok though also Aline in Sheffield looks ok. I will email them both,

Or I'd highly recommend Endeavour at Hamsterley
I had a skills session at Cannock a couple of years ago. Was very good. My only advice is to not underestimate your level. I was quite modest about my ability and the course was pitched a bit low. He adjusted it as the course went through, but that just reduced time coaching at a level that was pushing me. It's difficult not to underestimate your level, but be a little ambitious.
Granted two yeas was some time ago but i've been hitting cannock a bit over the past few weeks as i'm trying to get more peddling in for fitness and there is usually a training session about and about so they seem quite busy.
Thanks for all the replies.
I will decide shortly which one when I get some replies.
Another one for Jedi. If you can remotely afford it, it'll be worth your while!
Dunno about the others but Jedi's great...
Jedi pricey?
best value of anything to do with biking, i went one on one to jedi, by the end of the day i was doing gap jumps, riding wood 4 ft off the floor, popping off lips, riding berms, steeps, pump and jump and rock gardens all of which i had never attempted before, i was 61 when i went three years ago and my riding has literally come along leaps and bounds.
he corrects technique and instills confidence in your current skills and then improves your skills to allow you to do things you didnt know you could and kind of unlocks a new level for you, its hard to explain, which is why his nick name is Jedi.
