You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I am just a little over 5ft 6" and having a problem with sizes! Is it Small or Medium? 29er or 27.5? Santa Cruz does not offer Small in the 29er. Anybody with any experience on this or better still is currently running one. I will use the bike mainly for Thetford charging around the trees on singletrack and fire roads.
Any help appreciated!!!
5'11" here and on a size large Highball with a 90mm stem. It came fitted with a 70mm which was too cramped for me.
Also used for whizzing around Thetford.
C6 Bikes in Cambridge are running a demo day in Thetters later this month. phone them up and see if they can wangle a Highball from the distributor for you to try? At the very least, they may be able to give you a better idea on sizing.
5'7" and based on previous Santa Cruz experience I'd want a medium.
Definitely try one if your unsure, as SR says they always had an issue with being a little short, they have addressed that with the recent newer frames, Bronson v2, nomad 4 and Hightower LT which are all in the same ballpark as their contemporaries.
I have no idea about the high ball though, never really paid any attention to their hardtails tbh.
If you don't get an answer tonight I will ask my mate who is a Santa Cruz dealer when he calls around tomorrow morning ..
Re Highball, thanks for your thoughts guys! May need to speak to Stif Cycles!
Demo sounds a good idea!!
Cheers!
I’m just under 5’8” and always been a medium in SC. OH is just under 5’6”and also rides a medium. Deffo a medium I’d say.
Most probably a medium frame ..but you yourself came up with the best idea (Loombe)..test ride one first
I have a mk1 highball and a mk1 solaris. Highball is a large, solaris is a medium. There's mm in it on the reach but the highball seat tube is 2" longer. I'm 5'9". The old ones were short!
Can't comment on the newer models- I was under the impression the newer SC have got longer, but that might just be new models not updates?
