For Christmas, I got a retro jersey from Stolen Goat, sized medium, and it fits perfectly.

Yesterday, I received a winter jersey made by Castelli I had bought from a guy on eBay, sized medium, and while the sleeves were pretty good, the jersey itself was so small it made me laugh. I have now given it to my son.

Are Castelli jerseys generally microscopic in size, or did I accidentally buy a youth size? (Although that wouldn't make sense, unless young people have extraordinarily long arms!)

Italian sizing versus American sizing. Or alternatively Italian sizing has remained the same as it was 30 or 40 years ago whilst American/ UK sizing has changed as the average size goes up so what was a L is now a M.

I've had a couple, you just need to go up a size like with most "continental" sized roadie kit.

Yes. Also race cut, so tight across chest when stood up so that it fits well in riding position without big baggy sagging chest (the Jersey's, not yours).

Gabbas a bit more normal as designed to work over a base layer and a race fit Jersey.

Agree - see how it fits while sat in the saddle rather than stood up.

Castelli depends on your shape. Take from that what you will.

Medium across the board here.

I'm 5'9, a svelte 62kg and the small stuff fits fine

Can only comment on the Gabba LS, but I just bought a Large and the fit is perfect. I'd normally wear a medium for Endura/Altura/similar kit. I'm 6'0 and 80kg.

My Gabba is an XL, as is my Sportful Fiandre NoRain. Endura is L in jackets, Medium in shorts

As above, Italian or European stuff is generally small. I'm normally L or sometimes M but my Assos kit is XL and snug.

Yes, well I'm 5'10" and a not-quite svelte 78kgs with a 39" chest, and if I posted a picture of how the medium fit me, I would get banned.

Just bought a Gabba 2 short sleeved jersey last month.

I'm 6'2" and 83 kg's or 13st 5lb.

Everything I read suggested a L would be fine. Fortunately another guy in my office had a L gabba so I tried it on. I know they are supposed to be like a second skin but this was ridiculous.

So I went for XL. Fits fine.

I reduced a 24 hour race team to tears of laughter trying on my mate's size S team jersey 🙂

A friend once told me that his inadequacy meant he had to buy "Italian condoms" 🙂
