Just wondering what these are like? Are they quite stiff and reasonably tough with Rocks etc?

Heard good things about Ridge Components wheelsets, guessing they use similar rims as Sixth Element and look to be around the same price. The guys who run Ridge are local to me so I've seen a good few out on the trails and not heard a bad word about them so far

I was doubtful, but all my fears were put to rest after seeing this comprehensive test

Was that video seriously put out by the company or a joke? I mean it is a joke but was that the intention?

It was put out by them, whether or not it was initially intended as a joke it soon became one.

6th element are an assembler of other people's parts, they take the hassle out of sourcing the bits yourself and offer a degree of UK based support.

If thats what you want then fine.

Wow never seen that sixthelement video before! Thats a bit special!

If I was buying carbon wheels now it would be Santa Cruz every single time.

Do they even do as much as that? I figured they were were just buying wheelsets from Farsports (or the like) and passing them on

i reckon you could build SC wheels for 1500 if you didn’t go silly on the hubs

As said on the other thread, DT hubs only really worth it if it's the 240s

I'm sure 240's are great but I have had 350's on my bike since new 3 years ago and they have been faultless.

Btw sixth element should also take a leaf out of Santa Cruz’s book If they want to prove they’re strong - Danny Macaskill smashing them vs a guy in silly glasses tapping them with a hammer....no contest!

Just get Lightbike to do a video. That will show how the SE rims hold up.

I’ve got sixth element on my bikes. A top  wheelset, mine are unfazed both on my mountain and gravel bike and they both get some hammer in the Yorkshire hills, and Peak District,

graham at sixth element is a great guy to deal with. In fact he has loaned me a set of his own wheels for the last three months until my new set are complete. ( an issue with hubs from the USA). So to me that’s decent customer service

besides. How many people ride that hard to even get to the level of Danny mckaskill riding down a set of steps multiple times without tyres ,To test wheels to breaking point  ?

not many I suspect.

In a very similar vein, any feedback on Blue Flow wheels from users?

Nit yet, but I’m going to take the plunge soon as they’re more palatable price wise plus I work in notts and they’ll use my existing Hope hubs for reduction in price.
