After some suggestions for an alternative to the above which are not currently available. Must be disc specific and not a Cotic. I have a Gryphon which is built up as MTB not cross. Any ideas.

Something like a Salsa Vaya would get you close to the 'gravel' end of the Peregrine's range, but not really the 'rougher' end. They are ok for 700 x 42, but *might* be a bit too sharp on the angles if you want it for anything steep/technical.

Likewise the Surly Disc-Trucker ...

Surly LHT disc has to be worth a look, even if its only half as good as the standard LHT then it'll still be cracking.

I would say the surly long haul trucker is an outstanding touring bike, great when loaded, excellent handling manners... But too stiff to be a zippy unloaded bike. What makes it a great tourer makes it feel a little dead compared to the cross check for example.

Fargo... The most exciting mountainbike around IMO. Great as a mountainbike, especially in the air, but then load up and eff off on an adventure. Full knobbly tyres, or big apple slicks, it can be anything you want it to be. but Cycling is not about bikes, it's about cheese, sausages, pubs, views, cakes and adventures. But you can't ride a cheese, so that won't help you.

Slightly late to this...

Got a peregrine frame and forks for sale. First gen frame to suit someone 5'9" ish (think its a 54 though cant be sure, Sam would know). Good condition but with a few minor nicks to the paint.

Email in profile if you are interested.

Chris

Due to deceased gas fire I can't buy Ikimbunza's frame so its still available assuming he still wants to sell.
