Linked to from another thread but here's a fun word(le) like game for you to have a go at. This first is quite a tough one but if it proves popular we may make it a regular thing. If it becomes regular we then could possibly get some prizes for it. Anyway, let's not get ahead of ourselves. If you are a wordle fan, this is for you.

I do Wordle everyday that was abysmal! In my defence I was watching the news at the same time
Thought it was quite fun having a longer word. If you want 5 letters then there are loads of wordle games with that.
Got it in 2, but my second guess did take me a while.
Bloody hell my second guess was very close but then just couldn’t see it for ages, perfectly obvious once I did.

7 letter wordle is not easy. But I think there's a bug, or at least something different to the official game. I had two of a particular letter, say X (it's not X) in my penultimate word, and it flagged one as green and one as teal. As per the official game this would mean there are two Xs in the word and I have only one in the right place. However, there's only one X in the word. The code needs to count how many of a particular letter are guessed vs how many are in the word.
I'll pass that along to the developers (It's not our software).
I considered the 7 letters thing and wondered if it was too many for the number of tries, but then I think the fact the answer is bike related as a clue that would offset the length of the word.
I can pick any length word as it happens.

I said this on the STW 3.0 thread but it's worth repeating here. This takes zero time away from Anthony and Andy working on the new forum. It's all me using a bit of software we've been using for crosswords for over a year. The devloper has added a wordle tool.
It’s a bit frustrating in that I kept having to refresh the page to ‘check’ my word. Eventually got it in 3 but once the little jigsaw thing appears after each guess you hit Enter and nothing happens.
Well, that took me a while. I'd have been quicker if the phrase "bike related" hadn't been used!!
I can pick any length word as it happens.
My first thought is to use words ranging from 5 to 7 letters so there's a bigger pool to choose from.
In the score table, it would be nice to be able to see how many guesses people took.
Just updated it with #2 Another 7 letter word today. Plus I've added the leaderboard and answer from #1
I enjoyed that. I got it wrong, admittedly, but I enjoyed it.

First time!, It was the only 7 letter bike related word I could think of!
I guessed it first time, which is luck rather than skill. I guess I did mange to think of a bike related seven letter word...
Topping the leaderboard currently too.
It's fun, but it's not working as it should - #2 was telling me there was a second occurrence of the last letter, which wasn't the case (I had the last letter correct/green, but there was a second teal tile in same row, for the same letter)
I like that, it's fun!
Also, Number 69 on day one leaderboard. Nice.
Got it in 2 fairly quickly yesterday so today I just used yesterday's first guess. 11 seconds, great success!
3:30 and forth go. I'm happy with that.

If it's gonna stay at seven letters, I have no problem with being able to put any letters you want - 7 is rock hard! 🙂
