In September we will launch a campaign via the CrowdCube platform offering you the chance to become a shareholder of Singletrack. A real shareholder, part owner and with the chance to benefit from our future growth and success.

As we're thinking about the future, we've been reaching out to the Singletrack MTB community to find out what makes mountain biking (and the community itself!) so special. So far you've told us what Singletrack means to you, and rifled through the archives to find us your favourite vintage riding pics.

This week, we want to see where in the world you've been riding! Although Singletrack will always champion the best of British riding, we love seeing the exciting global adventures our contributors and readers have been on.

We're after photos of you on your bike in far-flung places - particularly if you live there (or were living there at the time), though any decent shots from your travels work too.

Chuck your photos below with a quick note about where it is and why it's worth the effort. We're curious about the spread of our readership and what keeps you coming back to those trails.

Again, we'll be sharing a selection of our favourites over on social media next week!

Based in South Yorkshire so most of our riding from home is usually in the Peak. Rode Cutgate first back in 1987 and have riden it from Langsett end regularly since then.

This year further afield we have had 4 weeks riding and exploring in Italy. Asti, Massa, Punta Ala, Massa Marittima and finishing in Finale before 3 weeks back in the UK

We are now 3 weeks into a five week tour. So far done Aletsch Arena, Val Di Sole, Torbole and Lake Maggiore. Moving on tomorrow to explore the Queyras before heading back home via the French Alps

Going to have to search for a few photos from this year so a few from this trip

Been living in Provence for the last 22 years, so that's mostly where I ride. (in the Monts de Vaucluse if you're wondering - no-one knows it but it's got really good natural trails. Some trips to Italy (Massa Maritima is great) maybe Spain end of this summer.

Last time I rode in the UK was pre Covid and I'd forgotten the whole "access" thing!

Recent trip to New Zealand for an off road tour.  Being older ( if no less wise) more gravel than MTB really but some singletrack amongst it and some very rough tracks with far too much climbing.  Maybe around 1000 miles in 6 weeks and goodness knows how much climbing - at a guess pushing 100 000 ft.  It nearly broke me.

I moved down south to Sheffield. Sometimes I wish I'd kept driving for another 1 or 2 thousand miles but it's not all bad.

Local trails are decent.

Suffolk based and riding from the door when back and other things allow. Earlier in the year had a lovely trip to Sicily for some touring, coffee, cake and focaccia.

I can't show you exact photos of the riding as it'd cause people's brains to melt but here be monsters:

I'm gonna be in Spain next week, unfortunatley the only bikes we'll have with us are the ones for riding to the shop or toilet block on the campsite!

I can post some photos of a bit of flip flop riding round the sandy pitches....

Live in south Hampshire and mostly, 95% of the time ride from my door as not far to SDW or Winchester downs etc and always includes a coffee stop.

The other 5% I have the occasional want to do a long distance ride for charity, all self planned and have so far done King Alfreds Way, SDW, and last one was Plymouth to London offroad.

Live on the Bournemouth/Poole border, 20 minutes from the Purbecks where I do most my riding, have a work office in Liguria and ride Sestri Levante there, and tagged 2 x Finale visits into work trips this year, I travel a lot with work often visit the Peak or Lakes when driving up North, also ridden in Dubai and Florida a few times on more work trips.

Frankenstein castle is just a couple of km from where I live. Its about 250 meters height from top to bottom,  there is a terrace bar at the castle, so on a summer evening its nice to go up and down a couple of times, then have a drink before the final descent.

Its about 30km from Frankfurt airport, so if any of the regulars are flying into Germany with their bikes, I could take them around, and if there is time I could even throw in a little look around the European space agency operations centre.

There is a decent selection of trails down the hill from the castle.

Not my videos, I am not much of a goproer or picture taker.

And an interesting local fact, marmite was invented by a German, who was born in Darmstadt.

Most Recently Verbier, which was really ace

https://enduro2.fr/english/enduro2-verbier-press-release-2025/

Thesedays I spend half of the year living in Nelson NZ which honestly kicks the ass out of QUeentsown and Rotorua, spots you probably heard of a lot more than Nelson.   Check out https://www.nzmtbrally.com to know more about this worst-kept secret of the Southern Hemisphere and I'd suggest its definitely worth putting on your bucket list if you can wangle the time and the airfare.

As much as I hate French admin and beaurocracy though, I just keep coming back to Savoie in France.   In terms of quality and quantity of all-day epics in unlimited variations, its still the top spot in the world in my opinion.

Todays ride was much more typical of my riding.  40 mile gravel loop out into east lothian.  A mix of old railway lines, woodsy singleytrack, coastal paths.  Riding from my flat so urban and rural.

Used to live in Bingley/Keighley/Haworth area, now in South Australia. I’m off to sample the trails in Tasmania next month at Blue Derby. Should be good. 😊 IMG_5712.jpeg

Pau based and ride mainly in France though we sometimes go over the hill to Spain or across the river to Germany. Epics in the Alps Pyrenees, Massif Central, the Basque Country or Ainsa happen now and then but mostly I just ride from the door which means within 50 trail kms. The trail and singletrack network is extensive. Doing randos organised in villages around has expanded our trail knowledge to the point it would take months of going out every day to do all of it.

I've got about a bit. Much less so these days because of the environmental impact, but I have just got back from Morocco.

It's rare for me now to hand a trip on the peg of cycling, but it’s such a wonderful way to see and experience places that a bike will often get shoehorned in. For experiences, Morocco and the Baltic states were the best. For riding, Morocco and the US around North Carolina/Tennessee.

Most of the time sub-tropical Queensland. Under cover of rainforests and sclerophyll to avoid being fried.

Last few weeks have been different. Paganella and Canazei in the Dolomites, Forest of Dean and next week will be Kicking Horse and Moose Mountain in Canada.
