Hi there one speed Singletrackers.

I have loaded the van, resurrected an old Karate Monkey and set it up in "Gentleman Racer Mode"... just got to do some ST office stuff, pick up some racing wine and cheese, and I will be on my way to SSUK.

If you are a Singletrack Member, come and find me... I have a few bottles of Singletrack beer left over from the Malverns. But you are going to need to be quick. I also have stickers.

If you are not a Singletrack member, and want a killer Print+ Membership deal... again, come I find me. I also have stickers.

I'll be there, allegedly I'm less of an arsehole in real life too.

Car is kinda loaded, there's a bike and a tent in there somewhere and a crate of beer, and I think I packed clean underpants. Anything extra I've remembered is a bonus.

Did a hill climb without one on Wednesday 🤣 Changing the cable and one of the little end parts for the barrell thingy inside the STI just vanished.
The climb was fine, the descent less fun...
I have broken two brakes in three days

I'm boycotting SSUK until it comes South again. Or at least below Birmingham. But then I'm all over it with my southern lardidah ways.

Scratchings? It used to be much classier - I remember cucumber sandwiches from the Edwardian ladies at Dalby, conveniently 5 minutes before a beer to wash them down 🙂

Unfortunately not there this year. Have fun.

Much the same format this year with short course and lots of laps, less rocky more jumpy though. The climbs were even more painfull though!

Llandegla next year.

Haha, I avoided the hipflask I'm sure it played a large part in my hangover at Staveley, also didn't want to run the gamble of does 40% Whisky kill covid as effectively as 80% hand santitiser. If it's any consolation my head's no better. Every year I say I'm going to go for a ride on Sunday, and every year it's a red eyed battle between coffee + carbs and the hangover until I'm fit to drive. I should just go up mid-week instead and get some riding done before the drinking.
