Just musing with the idea of a polished or anodised alloy SS dicking-around bike. Thinking ending up with something like a Sunn B-Mix, only alloy and kitted out with some simple budget bling, possibly hydraulic rim brake, but vees are lightweight and work well if set well. Saying that, even used 26er wheel-sets are seemingly appreciating. At least here in the UK.

I have a Dawes Edge One bike as a possible base for starting out, but it's a tad on the small size of medium and I'm unconvinced by the box-section stays. On the plus size - it's pretty light already as stock build so the frameset may be a goer.

Any other options? Must have horizontal dropouts and be alloy. 26er preferred but please convince me otherwise with the right frame 😀

I’ve got a large 2008 chameleon (ebb so no need for horizontal dropouts) if your interested, bought off here a few months ago. only spare as I built it up then realised it’s a tad small and found an xl really quick so didn’t even ride it. Pm me your email if your interested and I’ll pop over some pics.
