I'm going to be fitting a Hope hubbed wheel to my SS build.
The hub is the Pro 2 Evo and it's fitted with the steel freehub body.
Can I use a normal Gusset singlespeed cog on the hub or should I go for one of the wider base cogs?

if its a steel body it should be fine but i would always say running a wide base is a good idea.

It'll still dig in a little bit, best off to use the wide base version.
