I recently acquired a 2nd hand Skiiddii single wheel trailer and have been very impressed with the build quality and general usefulness.
I'd like to add a stand to the front of the trailer which will hold it steady when its disconnected from my bike to make loading and unloading easier.
Ideally would like one which will be permanently attached to the trailer and will fold out of the way. I need to maintain as much ground clearance as possible as it currently only just passes over the cycle/pedestrian barrier things which are on my route to the shops so can't really mount anything on the underside of the load deck.
Has anyone managed to source/bodge a suitable stand?
If positioned correctly a BOB yak trailer will hold a bike upright. I think it like a jackknifed position. Would this work for this trailer too?
Mine is basically a cheap Bob Yak so yes, it does work to jackknife it. This has the bonus of looking nifty too IMO :-D.
That's ideal for a quick stop where there isn't anything handy to lean the rig against but I'd like an easy method of keeping the trailer upright when its disconnected from the bike or if I need to park it in a straight line as the jacknife method takes up a lot of space on a footpth/parking area.
I use a short length of leftover sleeper at home to rest the front of the loadbed on which works great but its not really practical to carry it around with me.
I have a clickstand which allows me to park the tandem and trailer upright http://www.click-stand.com/
I was very sceptical about this but it just works and works well
When the trailer is detached it does not fall over but does rock a bit.
