Hi, Im looking to resurect an old single speed bike and want to use a narrow wide front ring and 10speed chain that i already have the question is do any conversion kits exist eg gusset that will work with a 10 speed chain?
Any should work, the inner width of 8/9/10 speed chains is all the same.
As above.
Nothing special about a 10spd chain other than the plates are avbit thinner but the gap is the same.
When you replace just get the cheapest 8spd chain you can find!
SRAM 850 chain currently £5.99 at CRC and Halfords.
Just replaced the chain on my SS with one of these, running a Surly cog and a random NW ring as I needed 32t, and that's what was in the spares box. All works fine, no need for a 10 spd chain.
They'll all work with a 10 speed chain. Just make sure whatever rear sprocket you use is 3/32" .
