After my sizing query last week a lovely Black by Absolute Black 34 tooth oval ring has landed on my desk.
The packaging states that 1x9 setups need to use 10sp chains (I assume that's to stop letting the narrow wide magic smoke out). As I'm running it single speed should my 1/8th chain be OK or is there problem I don't recognise?

Should be fine - chain is wider than teeth.

I'm running an AB oval ring with an 8sp chain on my SS and it's working fine.

From their site:

or 6-8 spd one for SS (1/8" also fits)

Thanks. Want to run my shiney new red KMC chain and couldn't see too much of a problem. Always worth checking though.

BTW this is the cheaper line of Absolute Black made just for CRC. Seems nice but apparently has less finishing work done for those of us who don't need ultimate being on our bikes. Very good price I think.
