Hello all,

Hoping somebody can help with a bit of advice. I'm after a simple GPS map computer I can use to download routes, and follow on screen turn by turn instructions when I'm out on the roadie. (Maybe even trails on the MTB If its possible?)

There's a few like the Garmin Edge 800 etc, but they seem to be overkill.. I already have a Suunto Ambit 2 watch that tracks my routes, cadence and heart rate - so I don't need that functionality and don't want to pay again for it.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Cheers!

I got a reconditioned Edge 30 (£150), and have Open Source Mapping, should do what you want. Have a quick Google - it's fairly easy to install the maps.

Something like a Garmin Dakota 10 or Etrex 10 should do most of what you want (not sure on the turn by turn navigation, but shows the route on the map).

I have one for sale if you're interested (Dakota 10 that is)

Although its basic, you can put courses on an edge 200 and whilst it doesn't give turn instructions you can easily follow a course. Create them on-line then drag them onto the device

Or get a cheap GPS phone with a mount
