Hi,

Can anybody recommend a simple wireless bike computer suitable for a 6 year old? His 5 quid eBay special has taught me that it's better to pay a little bit extra and get something that will last 😯

I guess he would be suited to one which displays most of the data on the main screen without having to 'cycle' (no pun intended) through the functions.

Current Speed and Max Speed are a must and would ideally show on the same display.

The Knog N.E.R.D. looks quite fun for a kid, but I think it keeps looping through the functions and doesn't allow you to set Max Speed for example as the permanent function. Also, which one, there is the 5, 9, 12 etc.? Does anyone have one, or will admit to having one?

The Planet Bike Protege 8 or 9 also looks good.

Has anyone used either?

Any ideas are gratefully received - thanks..

Shame you need max speed, cos the Trek ones are ideal for kids bikes

Woody, if you'd ridden with a six year old you would know that max speed is very much a key metric for that demographic..

Now, who does a GPS with a "How many metres to the next ice cream?" function?

Hey Woody - that Trek one looks great! I hadn't seen it while searching. Unfortunately Master GoodGuGu ain't gonna be happy if Max Speed is missing! He's still convinced he's ridden 62.5 mph from the reading off the old eBay special. It might be a bit of a come-down for him if I buy him something reliable!

🙂

My little boy is happy with a bell at the moment! I have one of them myself as a bar mounted watch 🙂
