The rocky gulley is great, as is the steep forest single track, and the cheekiest trail in the country is fantastic. Now we don't want them to turn into a Thrunton erosion fest do we?

Geda just back from a wee blast, think i found the gully, the path signed from the top track, ace, then a continuation over another forest road, the path from the bend to the carpark had my fillings rattling, you are right about keeping locations low key, i was just hoping for a pointer of the obvious ones, erosion shouldn't really be a problem on the footpaths. Have been meaning to checkout these paths for a while, have you ridden the path along the top of Simonside, i'm in two minds as to whether it is worthwhile, an endless caravan of grockles and is now totaly paved i believe? last time i was up there they had just started and i was more interested in the cragging, so can't really remember how rocky. I guess late evening is key.

When I was on one the the trails above, not the real cheeky one, some ald wifey with her dogs started shouted at me "Wad a y deeing up there y gan t break y next y stupid idiot" so it must be good.

I love building cheeky singletrack. It is good to have local knowledge to know where is busy and where nobody is likely to go. I have been made into a bit of a rebel living in Sweden as there the forests are a lot more open and the ground less boggy so making a trail is mainly just clearing away the sticks and branches and they have the same kind of access as in Scotland. I think as long as you are not digging/cutting down trees/etc and generally making a nuisance of yourself then the FC will not be too bothered. Problem is like what happened before in the valley and people do not have respect for the countryside but just treat it like a playground.
