Typical, looking forward to getting out the bike today as I've been away all week and it's raining...
Doesn't look like I can drive (<2hrs) to somewhere to avoid the rain either.

Not having sorted out a mudguard for my fork to limit spray doesn't help either.

lol yeah, I think I've got too used to not seeing much rain here in East Anglia.

I could do with a bike carrier for car to use in these situations.

Look on the bright side, it'll get rid of that horrible dust that has been appearing lately 😆

Yep, rained on my bike ride first thing, and on my run after that. The irony is, when I got home, I had a bath, then a shower. Four lots of wet in one day.

I'm okay now, just in case anyone was concerned.

Weather is fine but a bit windy in Oldham. Unfortunately I've been too ill to ride for the last fortnight.

No pictures, but I went out to chicksands on Sunday as I really wanted to get a feel for my new bike (Giant Trance 27.5 2) and see what I needed to tweak/change to my liking (besides the handlebars which got changed as soon as the bike was home, though I'm actually finding my renthal fatbar lite's to not feel quite be wide enough on the trance, even though they felt perfect on my old talon that I took them off).

The drive out there was rain free until I got about 2 miles away from chicksands where it was raining but not that heavy.

Anyhow, long story short, was there about 30mins and the not to bad rain turned into full on heavy rain with everywhere flooding (as per usual over here when it rains), I got soaked, inside of the car totally soaked due to me loading the bike into the car and trying to change out of my soaking clothes.

Other than that, I actually had fun and I really like the new trance. The Fox 32 140mm travel forks are 'ok' for now, the rear shock I think might get push tuned (to get it how I'd like) but the geometry is great and it's really fast. Had a blast down the dual slalom.

chuffed it's raining. rest day, and as I laid turf on friday, no need for me to break out the hose tonight, a double whammy of rain related goodness.

Hang on a minute

Have I honestly just read a thread where mountain bikers are talking about the need to drive away from rain to go out on their bike?

I know it sounds far fetched but what happens if the rain moves?
