I need to get a side load bottle cage for tge hardtail as therea not enough space by the time my tube and tools are strapped to the seatube.

Can anyone recommend anything that will hold the bottle on the rough stuff?

Specialized Zee. Tight as a gnat's chuff, never lost a bottle.

As above, Zee is the boy.

I really like my Arundel carbon side loader but was disappointed to notice the other day that it's wearing badly on the raised bump near the top.

Has anyone recommended a Spesh Zee yet?

Well, they're right.

Zee are great 😊. They also hold in an extender battery pack that weighs a lot more than water... 😂

My Occam came with a nice Lezyne side loader cage on it that has been flawless for the last 7 months, not sure which model it is exactly as the shop stuck it on for me..

I’m sure the last few times this has been asked the answer was a Specialised Zee cage.

I have a Mt Zoom carbon one from XCRacer that has been faultless for years.

I've got a couple of zee cages which are good but not as good as the Fidlock system I've started replacing the zees with.

I bought a zee. £15.
I also bought a Zefal. £2.

Imo, there isn't £13 difference.
In fact the Zefal you can adjust what handed and up/down.
I've now got three normal Zefal clips as well and haven't lost a bottle yet.

I bought Mini a Profile Design side entry bottle cage because it was the only one that would fit on his bike. It has never lost a bottle even when he went otb on a jump and the bike bounced a fair distance down the trail. I also put it on my bike if I don't want a pack because only side cages fit on my small BFe. I had a big off in Feb time and the bottle did not come out. Despite this it is not hard to remove when I want a drink. Can't compare to the praised Spesh Zee but definitely worth a look.

Surprised no one has suggested the Zee yet. Very happy with mine. I agree its overpriced. You can usually get odd colours half price, but even then its expensive.

I like the idea of the Fidlock but really can't work out how low my bottle would sit.

For some reason, the cage bolts on my frame are very close to the bottom bracket thereby limiting my choice of bottle cage.

Zee's are good, the Elite Prism seems just as good.

Er, Zee. But it needs a Purist bottle. Camelback doesn’t fit as well.

Alpkit love mud ones here, really rate them.

Think I had to search the alpkit website as don't come up under bike stuff.

Think they were about a fiver.

Slight tweak to the OP just to try and mix the Zees up a bit: Which ones work well with Camelbak bottles?

Zee was fine, but converted all bikes to Fidlock as they are sublime.
