I’ve just picked up a set of Sid select+ off eBay. Listing said they had been recently serviced, with some bits replaced. Nothing in detail on the listing so assumed just general oil and seals.

Clocked there was no blue ring on the lockout nob and started to worry that I’d overpaid for a fork that had been downgraded. But the assembly actually seems to be from the race day damper.

I had messaged the seller, but no reply. So, I’m wondering if the top cap is a reliable marker of the damper, or would it be possible to have just swapped out the top cap. If not, is there any other ways of confirming? Weight maybe? But steerer has been cut

I have a SID Select+ and my top cap is different that that.

Is there a rebound adjuster red knob at the bottom of the fork or do you need to use a long Allen key to adjust the rebound?

I'm no expert - but that does look like a Race Day rebound knob & top cap so assume you have a race day damper fitted.

You've got a Race Day damper. I've read on the big MTBR Spur forum thread that Rock Shox previously fitted them to a few warranty jobs due to parts shortages.
