Three minutes of HD jumping and railing perfect berms? Lovely shiny bike pitter pattering over a dry rocky trail?

Nah. I’d much rather spend ten minutes pushing up a saturated tussocky field to find that the farmer has shut the two gates on the moderately fun descent off the other side. And when landowners have fenced two rights of way into, effectively, water-courses and I end up wading through one up to my mid-thighs. That’s what I’m all about, yeah.

Fist-bumping at the bottom of an epic uplifted trail?

Nah, I much prefer getting home to disapproving looks, getting undressed in the garden, then spending half an hour in the shower trying to stop my toes being white.

Local UK riding in the spring (ha!) don’t you just love it?

I'm just back from an 80km road ride over to Box Hill and back: Chilblains in both hands and both feet say "Spring is here"!!! 😀

You can bring the two together by simply fist bumping your partner post ride as you get mud on the kitchen floor making a cheese sandwich. They will be thankful you have included them in the experience.

A truncated video of someone vomiting? I'd rather shoulder my bike over a few gates-with barbed wire on top...

Got new camera so did some sick edits at FoD:

Day 1: all video footage recorded in timelapse mode.

Day 2: all video footage over exposed due to playing with camera in low light settings night before.

Day 3: camera mostly covered in mud.

Brilliant.

@fathomer

It was a bit of a case of grin and bear it, but it wasn’t too bad, really. Epically wet, mind.

The shouldering bike through thigh deep water was a bit of a low point, though. It is either that or a good 2-3mile detour, so deep breath and in we go. I was completely clean from the knees down afterwards, but got shit up again so no upside.

The OP made me laugh. Our general riding doesn’t really get near the vids, not just from ability but location and weather. I’m struggling with it a bit at the mo and seem to end up digging more than riding.

I hate the term edit, it's a video of the most fun bits of mtb riding, of course it's edited. "Edit" sounds flipping pretentious.

I wish I could edit my sick time. Most of last year not riding because of knackered ankle. On crutches since the operation on Feb 1st. Hopefully removing the ankle boot and down to just one crutch at the start of June. Still sat in bed at the moment because the wife is washing my stinking boot liner.

what I wouldn't give for cold, wet, muddy feet...
