Looking for a new waterproof jacket after a deluge on the Quantocks. Would really like a Gore but prices are eye-watering 🙄 thought I saw on here an offer for Endura MT500 for £140 but can't find it? So failing that any IMBA Jacket users out there? A couple reviews say it's not long enough on the back which puts me off. Any other thoughts?

I’ve got one.

The vents are inconveniently placed, and you end up with a wet patch on your front if they aren’t done up (which kinda makes them not vents).

It could do with being a tad longer, but it’s not a dealbreaker.

Main downside to the IMBA is you've just missed a big discount on it! 🙁

I think what would put me off is it being a 2.5-layer fabric, I think. So the liner is a print on top of the waterproof membrane / coating rather than a solid fabric laminated to the waterproof layer. It saves weight, but even though they've improved in recent years, still tends to feel a little less pleasant that a full 3-layer fabric.

I'd also try on anything you're going to buy before parting with the cash. Jackets that don't fit well are annoying and work less efficiently.

I have a Decathlon Waterproof jacket
MH500 2.5layer and 10’000 waterproof
Has done me 3 winters in some biblical rain and held up great
And at £60 it’s hard to beat
