You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Here's mine from last nights club ride after 0.3 of a mile.
First one in hospital straight after clean up, they had to inject anesthetic into the wounds and that hurt more than the injury.
The other two are the next day(this morning)bit swollen and now have a top lip like Marge Simpson. So can someone recommend a light full face helmet.

😀 superb Stoner.
sorry Lipseal - hope its not as painful as it looks.
Got no faceplant pic fortunatly 😕
It hurts when I laff 😆
rode over old fence wire sprung up, caught chainset and stopped bike dead.
was ridign alone so took picture to assess damage. Normally I can sneak in the house and have a shower to wash the worst of the evidence away before I'm spotted ("Why is you leg at that angle?" "just scraped it a bit, it's just a flesh wound"). Wasn't really an option on this occasion.
Still have scar on forehead where helmet peak dug in.
It was the rock garden on Skyline wot done it... Cracked my helmet, and have scars on my mouth from 14 stitches. Couldn't talk, smile, drink or eat. You have my sympathy lipseal! Hope it gets better quickly. I used Rosehip seed oil from Neal's Yard on my face, very good for helping skin to heal.
Oh and I remember the anaesthetic injection straight into the wounds.... owwwwwww!

PeterPoddy, now they're the kind of pictures I wanted to see when I clicked this thread, not loads of blood! :-S

That a long time hope you get it sorted.
This one does the rounds a lot.
That's brilliant!
I don't know whether I've not being going fast enough, or whether I'm lacking the self confidence to believe in myself beyond the point of no return, but I've always been able to get my heels over the bars before anything awful happens.
Probably not trying hard enough.

Bugger, posted the wrong pic again. Never mind!
This was the result of what was going to be a gentle ride on Dartmoor but only after half a mile - BANG - things were going so well up to then ...
right after the crash

This was me a few hours later after a visit to A&E
The next day with the scars/scabs...
I was fortunate not to have any stitches but I was super glued together on the worst cuts 🙂
Bump for the night shift
lipseal - I told you there was steps coming up!! 😈
That actually has gone wrong that one, hasn't it?
jam bo... he is going down HARD man...
Ahh it's a shame I'd forgot to press start on my GoPro Andy, there was a good chance of me catching the stack on film, was only couple of bikes behind you...
Dave I forgot there was two lots, I sort of lost my line on the second set and my fat arse wasn't back farenough, that's my modelling contract finished with gillette. 😉
Mick you'd best give me that camera as you don't know how to use it.
Can't believe this thread didn't have a Public Warning. 😯
Some pretty grim pics there and hope everyone is on the mend. 🙂
Be careful out there.
Had my worst plant on my road bike - broken collarbone, ribs, punctured left lung and some extraordinary road rash. All in the name of finding out that riding a fixed gear on a Monday is not the best after taking my mtb 'round the Quantocks on Saturday...they just don't mix. No pics unfortunately - my wife was too squeamish. I do have some decent scars though!
didn't know they offered cocaine on the NHS 😉crispy bacon: This was me a few hours later after a visit to A&E
All those pics above (apart from the ladies) - not looking forward to that first shave!!
Mick you'd best give me that camera as you don't know how to use it.
But I CAN ride my bike down steps, with 26" or 29" wheels 😆
Andy thats awesome, i'll have to remember to come out next time your riding. Bet from now on everyone with the cameras will be behind you.
Good entrance into the Stack of the Year award, blood, stitches, A&E, Photos. All that was needed to guarantee the trophy was a broken bone, so you must try harder next time 😆

So it's not just me who thinks he looks pilled up....
Ian I promise to try harder next time, maybe lose a couple of teeth. 😛
I need to look through my old pics, I have an ace one of me from 89, it'll * those above up the *.
an old one at Bedgebury. Look to the left of the bridge
Helping Sue out of the stream
It was November, the water was cold and she was fully submerged hence the look of shock on her face (but Gary on the right seemed to find it funny)

Ooops sorry wrong thread!
May I dedicate it to all of you?
Someone must know this guy...
SOme crackers on here... Stoney, I always wondered what our FB profile pic was of... lol
Crazy legs I think I speak for a lot of people when I say, do that again, please!
On a serious note, when I first started biking back in the day I would go along at a good speed then jam the front brake on. I would then learn to jump over the bars onto my feet and also how to land without injuring myself.
It might not be a bad idea to learn how to do that, get an old bike not a new one and practice jumping over the bars, sound stupid but it is a skill that everyone should have, as sooner or later chances are we are all going over the bars 😯
Some of us will have our heads go one way and our bodies the other while we attempt to plant our faces into the ground, some of us will not 😉 That said if I do I will come back and show everyone the picture!
TSY, that's not the best jump I've ever seen, but it does have a certain class.
It could have been so much worse!
50 stitches after getting up close and personal with Edale Tarmac.
great. I already mince about with shin pads on. Now I need a full face after seeing those 🙁

I did this on the Quantocks in Triscombe last year, also fractured my elbow which i didn't realize until i reluctantly went to A&E the day after. Still managed 12 miles back to the car afterwards though 😆
My helmet didn't look much better either!

Day after pic, one tooth knocked clean out, one broken at the root and still in place, bitten through bottom lip, front wheel wash out and face plant in to a root sticking out the bank at the top of pepsi max in the wyre, 5 years on and the teeth marks are still in the root, there is also a deer walking round the forest with a dashing smile 😀
SPOOOON!!!!!
I hope you don't mind John, I stuck that lovely clip on the [url=
Facebook page.
flamejob - no problem, we spent literally hours bawling our eyes out watching that clip the following evening.
None of you were any oil paintings anyway, so no loss to the world.
>-)
Not me, but some guy we were following down the White's trail today.
I believe his bike ended up 20 foot futher on down the bank, he didn't look too bad/damaged back at the trail centre.
OI JON I WAS ABOUT TO POST THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!
