I've since sold the hub as TBH it was a bit sh1t.

The rest of it works brilliantly as a singlespeed though.

I am truly impressed ade, you've managed to take one of the ugliest bikes ever created and make it look worse šŸ˜€ Bet it rides nicely tho, mate of mine has a JW2 and if he wasn't a foot taller than me I'd have a go on it.

@geoffj I should have bought that Alfine wheel off you as I'm thinking of doing the same to the Rig you sold me now.

David J.

You want to buy an Alfine 29er wheel that'll bolt straight into your Rig frame?

It worked well, I keep an eye on the classifieds, as I wouldn't mind another rig. I wish Trek would import them again šŸ™

AH, no good to me then - I'm looking for a 29"/700cc alfine with the ability for rim brakes.

Cheers.

that's one impressive rim though... will have to keep it in mind.

You could run a rim brake on it.

Not in a cross/road frame though. šŸ˜‰

/me ponders...

I'm sure I've had a 46c in the back of my Pompino? which was my plan, as the alfine is as reliable as SS.

edit - ignore me, it was a 36/38 and I was too near the back of the track ends for my idea of comfort.

8 speed Nexus equipped Airnimal. The derailleur acts as a chain tensioner and comes fitted as standard. I've tried changing it for a Doofer but there's not then enough chain left to allow the folding mechanism to work properly, unless you firstly remove the chain from the chainrings but that's too messy.

There is no way on earth the KH rim would fit in a Pomp. It's f'in huge.
