Because it feels like it's always got more travel in reserve, climbs ok and descends like a mother. I know the back tyre looks weird; I found out it was punctured after the photo!

Alas, this will turn into a Cotic Soul within the next week. Boys and their toys 🙄

why? cos it's so much fun! i loved my old kona but it was a wee bit short. also, i couldn't run a rear disc and tyre clearance meant i couldn't run anything bigger than 2.2". this one is so much fun! as soon as i start riding, i don't wanna turn back - i feel like i could carry on for ever!

This is my steed & it puts a big old smile on my face every time I ride it. It's more bike than I need & can handle but it smooths out the bumps & saves by (crispy) bacon when I get it all wrong.

This is going soon, in fact this week if the new 'un finally arrives but is a lovely bike to ride and allows me to ride more aggressively than my slack skill level suggests

Because its what I have, lol. Its an old Gary Fisher Marlin although I am unsure of the year. It has had some gheto fixing in the past such as the tape on the sus fork. I also recently installed a new easton handlebar because the past one was starting to rust like mad. This will soon be my winter and commuting bike since I have my eyes on a Lapierre Zesty.

Love it and hate it in equal measures.
Love the way it rides and how versatile it is. 😀
Hate the fact that I've been to several demo days and tried all the bikes I thought I wanted to replace it with yet I've not found anything I'd change it for, so no shiny-shiny for me. 🙁

*I've had the gardener put down some weed killer so it's a lot tidier now, honest.

Just because, and because it makes less sense the more you look.

😉

[img] [/img]

Because it's fantastic and does [almost] everything.

[img] [/img]

Because it's as equally fantastic as it's mate there ^.

This tho' ... this has now been retired.

Sorry not at all niche except the stupid bars

I bought this lightly used a year ago. I've had a long term wrist injury and it was genuinley unsure as th wether it would stand up to much off road cyling. I was doing OK on my old hard tail with rubbish 80 mm travel forks but still getting wrist pain on bad days/longer rides.
On this bike with those stupid bars the wrist is pretty much a non issue 🙂

Oh its also the only bike that has truely been the right size for me, lovely long chain stays and top tube

I love it 'cause it's a proper little, big bike. Punches well above it's weight on the rough stuff but jumps and corners like a good'un.

The Genesis...
[img] [/img]
Couple of components changed since that pic, and about to get the 853 frame swapped out for the very same in Ti! Overall I love it cos it's simple, handles brilliantly, and is possibly the most reliable bike I've ever had... No matter what, it always works!

The Maverick...
[img] [/img]
Love it cos quite simply I don't think there is a better "all round" bike out there. I've ridden and owned so many different full sus bikes over the years, and come to the conclusion that the Maverick really is the best all rounder out there. It goes uphill like an XC whippet, and descends like a DH demon (shame its owner does neither!). It still amazes me just how good it is every time I ride it.

The Reign X
[img] [/img]
Now with added KSi900 post for saddle dropability. Love this cos there's no other long travel bike I've ridden that handles as well, or is so versatile. Proper good fun, and a good "UK DH" bike to boot.

The Road bike
[img] [/img]
Because its fast, and I convinced myself I needed one! I'm promising myself I'm going to ride it more, was going to ride it today actually buy my back has given way!

Got one after owning a 2nd hand earlier geo frame and it's frikkin ace, goes up hill as better than Cove Handjob and descends really really well.

Oh yeah it's a bit on the niche side, does have a Joplin fitted at the moment and about to have the old Racing Ralph slung on the rear for summer fastness 😀

Yeah my apologies, Carbon Rushians!!
Ive come straight from my rigid retro scott (see below) straight to the Rush. Absolutely nothing to compare it to, but it does make me smile plenty. Didnt know anything about them really, must have struck lucky when I spotted it on ebay and thought, I like orange, squishy at both ends, think I'll have that 🙂

This was a pic of it on its maiden voyage today and so far its epic. Goes up hills better than my hard tail did and flies down them!

I had the frame off ebay on Monday and transferred the rest of the kit from my HT today.
