Looking for a bit of inspiration. I already have a SS that I built mostly from very old spares. It's been ridden a lot recently due to the weather and I'm really tempted to build up a newer one with more modern geometry.

So, show me yours!

Mine from a coupe of years ago before going back to fixed gear.

Very old geometry but very fast for where I live (fire roads and easy off road (although not as fast as the fixed gear in most places)

Weighed around 8kg

That Setavento up there ^^^ looks the dogs bollocks, “old” geometry or not, although it also looks like forks with more offset would suit it better, in my opinion of course.

I suspect that it does pretty much everything that a “new” geometry rigid singlespeed would do.

But, like me with my Ti Hummingbird, the problem is being limited to straight steerer forks, otherwise something like those Enve carbon forks with variable offset (44 or 52mm) would be just the job (at a price...).

Kona Unit (shown here in sunnier times)

Have recently gone tubeless and put a new rear wheel on, which has saved a chunk of weight and made a world of difference

Stooge Mk1- loved the bike. Not the lightest, but solid build.

PS: Longing for dusty trails, as per photos 🙁

I would not bother building new bike only for the sake of building.

Anyways, here is mine.

Romet 29er SS

Romet 29er SS, but gears ready if I will feel feeble xD

Cheers!

I.

These look nice! I' so tempted to buy a new frame for next year and swap over some of the parts. I'e even considered a cheap Chinese frame on eBay but  one have horizontal dropouts.

tails,

Soma CrMo MTB disc fork in 453mm, they are the same one in pic 3 but obviously the 2nd pic is a 29er as opposed to 26".

Cheers.

I'll overlook the 'modern' bit of the thread for this one:

'92 Kona:

Mk1 Gryphon:

2013 Kona:

That one ^ was bought as a cheap winter knockabout, but with a bit of a rebuild and new bars & saddle to taste ... has turned out to be a really great bike for mashing about on.

Mjsmke - it’s a superfly. They used to do a SS version, mine is standard using a magic ratio

Some lovely looking frames! I had my eye on a Kineses Decade Virsa but the horizontal dropouts are no longer available.

Sherpa SS

27.5+ at the front with a boost Surly Krampus fork and 29 at the rear because I couldn't get the chain length right to fit the plus tyre in.  The sliding swapouts aren't long enough.

Just seen Evans has the Pinnacle Ramin 3 Plus frame on offer. EBB and lots of clearance so might be a good Single Speed frame. Not sure of the rear axle length though.

Ah just read its 135 rear spacing so no good for me.

2009 Voodoo Wanga - bought as a cheap hack on a whim but seems to be my go-to bike these days.
