I'm seriously considering replacing one of my alu frames with a steel one. Maybe a Cotic/Sanderson/Pipedream. It would be great to see any steel bikes Which you think i should consider.

cheers

D

Jackass - is your love/hate the bike that Mike@Dialled said was one of only 200?

Yeah!!

Hi Lee and thanks for the glowing report on the Love/Hate. It’s really great when I hear from customers and how they have connected with their Dialled Bikes frame. In fact, it kinda makes it all worthwhile and justifies why I do this.

Unfortunately, sales of Love/Hates have really slowed down recently, so the current stock may actually be the last Love/Hates ever as at the moment, I couldn’t justify ordering another batch. So take good care of that Love/Hate as it is currently 1 of only 200 ever made!

Regards

Mike

Cool - I've got one of those too, in the same colour, its nice to know its a bit of an exclusive one. Its an aweseom frame too so I'm surprised it never really took off. I guess there is a bit of competition in the SS market though.

Steel is for people who think Alu frames are dull and titanium frames crack at the welds, eventually. 😉

Fisher Paragon 29er (Alu)
Inbred SS 29er (Ti)
Roberts (853/ Colombus mix)
Bob Jackson Pista (853)

And obviously a Kona or two, somewhere....

Gary Fisher Ferrous, EBB, 130mm TALAS forks, Magura Louise brakes. I've had a lot of fun on this on the last few months (despite/because of lack of gears)

This one's is a pre-production prototype, and hence the only Enigma ever to be made in the far east.. Apparently they decided that their welding and quality was better, so 3rd hand down the line I got a Columbus frame for peanuts.

[IMG] [/IMG]
This one had "Melbourne specific geometry" whatever that is...

If you search for 'Evil Sovereign' on here or the internets, you typically find large numbers of people enthusiastically gushing about how they are the best thing ever. I've never really seen such an enthusiastic response about any other bike.

MrK, it's a VRO from Syntace.

many here (STW) have commented - and laughed - at it, but it comes into its own on long alpine climbs.

don't tend to adjust it at all when pootling around for fun, but when in the alps and you've got a long 2-3 hour slog uphill it's worth spending two minutes throwing the bars forward.

http://www.syntace.com/index.cfm?pid=3&pk=389

also weighs ****-all in comparison to some stem/bar combos.

huh, interesting. and there i was, thinking it was just a bodge to counter a stem with too little rise and too short a steerer on the forks... 🙄
