I love them, seem to be the best choice for the mud and the, ahem, sturdier person.
nice bike andy... But the colours seem a bit mix and match 😉

you beat me to it Brant
Hi Lyons,
I like the contrast between the red parts and blue frame. (Had all the red shit prior to the new frame). Just need some new white Revelations to lighten it and make even more "mix & match"!!! 😆
Back in the day a single pivot bike only had one pivot 🙂
Top usage of "Back in the day" there sir!! 😆
nice heckler

both retired to the wall in the garage
rich penny is that a pivot around the BB? tell us more
carlosog - is that a ruckus - what does it ride like?
Ade - filename says "sultandwaxlepath" - which would appear to be a Turner? Sultan with DW Link?
That Morewood is very sturdy looking, How does it climb as I assume it's great on the way down?
I think the I-drive's ride is down to taste , they have a bit of a dead feel to them but you can keep the power down whatever the terrain.
I used to run the bike with 5" Rockshox psylo forks that were 3.5 lb but putting the rc66's on transformed the way the bike rode/handled despite being twice the weight.
The bike is much more capable than me , I've chucked it off 4/5 foot drops with no problems and I weigh 15st (give or take a pie) I've had to replace the pivot bearings (£30 betd) and the lower shock bushing 3 times.
The main obstacle to riding my Ruckus over distance is weight anything over about 15 miles gets a bit wearing,it weighs nearly 38lb but everything on it is strong rather than light and as I mainly use the bike for freeride/downhill stuff this isn't a problem , I have a hardtail for xc duties.
barf
thanks.
joemetcalfm that looks great
cheers tootin i bloody love it. i can take it anywhere dosent climb so good but im an old dh rider so suits me fine. rips down the hills. get one.
Joolsburger, the shova climbs well. There is very little bob and what bob there is is eliminated by propedal setting 1 for fire roads etc.
I took it to Cannock yesterday, on the downhill section which is cut up with big braking bumps it just swallowed it all. I've only had a Kona Caldera HT and a stumpy FSR in the past, however i've demo'd an Orange 5 twice and i found that to have quite a bit more bob up hill. I think this is due to the lower position of the pivot on the 5.
The shova is slightly heavier than my stumpy but is soooo much stiffer and plusher downhill. (I realise they're designed for different purposes-STW)
The Singletrack issue 44 had a good review which comments on the pivot positioning and lack of pedal induced bob.
Thanks Andy, contemplating a new frame (maybe) and currently that's top of my list.
slowrider,, that is a very clean orange,, i do like the stick on letters,,where did they come from?
Doh. Thwarted by technical ineptitude!
@chunkypaul
they are very good when it's dry and loose but greasy mud shows them up a bit. I'm not too impressed with their construction either, all the outer knobs are starting to separate from the carcass. I used a triple compound version during the summer on the rear and it seemed to wear out very quickly. I didn't feel that comfortable with it on the rear, they seem much more suited on the front. I had a few off's due to the rear sliding out where I dont think a minion or high roller would.

halfords 😳
Try again. Retired Solid Index.
That's one of those Astrix frames, like the on-one growler I did a few years ago.

It is - motolink suspension design built under license from Astrix by Solid Bikes I think.
oooo... i like that chumba
Here's the new Nukeproof Freeride frame

That's got more than one pivot, as have several on here???
oooo... i like that chumba
Dirt have had that bike for the past 3 months! Full test and review end of March in Dirt.
personally clubber, i would call that a faux bar as it has a pivot on the seatstay
a 'faux bar' IS a single pivot...
If it has no extra pivots between main pivot and the wheel then it's a single pivot. Regardless of how the shock is actuated.
Having more than one pivot doesn't stop a frame being a single pivot at least not functionally.
I'd have said a single pivot was defined by having a single pivot point. The bike you show doesnt, the rear wheel does not follow a circular path about one pivot. Though the deviation may be very small on that setup.
<edit> looked more closely, fair point, not a 4 bar setup that I thought it was.
Very old pic of mine, excuse the odd looking bike holder:

ooOOoo - That doesn't look like a single pivot to me. It's an ABP Trek isn't it.
Nice picture though. Looking North-West from somewhere near the top of the Worcestershire Beacon at a guess?

Ha! Pwned you 😉
Yes, it's a 'faux bar' but as I said, that's just a single pivot with a linkage activating the shock.

megastream - your poploc is upside down... sits under the bars normallygood taste in bike mind...
😳 haha, I thought it looked kinda odd - have just changed it round - cheers
