You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
I have a single speed with bullhorns that I've been using for this kind of thing, but since I moved up North the 23mm tyres aren't really cutting it with local potholes and towpaths. So, probably going to sell it and get something I can put slightly bigger tyres on, and looking for some inspiration.

I had forgotten that it actually looks pretty good clean, it generally looks a bit more like this
In the winter it gets razzed round the local woods too!
Good fun, reliable and some retro taste to it.
Chrishc777's train-wreck of a post, fixed.

These are all a bit smart for riding to the pub?! This is what BSOs were made for, my pub bike is a Lincoln Nevada... 😀
As I see it, going to the pub is a serious social undertaking, and a good pub demands to be arrived at on a nice bike. All's needed is a decent lock.
If you go to the pub with other cyclists.. They're gonna look and rate it, so it's got to be cool or truly disgusting
Life is too short to ride a sh1t bike
that canister is one for the "ow my eye" thread
Oh, and your canister of whatever, is totally wasted.
Its the bastard love child of Kermit and Gonzo

Ooh, nice bars flashes.
The Genesis got me wondering about ways SS can work with disc brakes, and I got [url=

After a quick look at belt drives I extracted myself from the rabbit hole, realising I would yet again end up with a nice bike I didn't want to lock up in public places. Looks like my existing (Mango Bikes kind of thing) frame has way more tyre clearance than expected, so I'll try some 32C Randonneurs and rebuild the wheels with wider, less flashy rims if necessary.
My pub bike is called Julie. She won't let me take a photo tho.
Everyone has had a ride of her at one point and has managed to accommodate 2, sometimes 3 riders at the same time.
Yesterdays Bathams nine pub crawl bike.

It was for pork pies and scotch eggs yesterday. 🙂
i had an itch that needed scratching... so i built another one of these buggers... it mainly take me to the pub however.. which is hilarious as everyone i go with uses a road bike... i get dropped on the ride home 🙁

Thanks for fixing my post. The argon cylinder doesn't live next to the grinder, the grinder is broken awaiting repair!
Hiya Rob - N2W (Awooga!), are those Big apples? Just got some for my soon to be pub bike ('97 Hahanna) but I've been using this for the last 5-6 years.
I normally bring the bike in, so it does't have to be too scratty - it's the commuter/bike trailer/200km audax/sportif tarmac based bike.Soon to sport front racks too for cc/short wild trips next year.
Fat franks my good man 😉
