Nothing too fancy, a fairly budget minded build:

Not an exciting build by many standards, all parts straight swap from my old Orange G4(must get round to putting the frame on classified) and straight onto this one.

Fantastic bike, love the way it handles and feels.

Also a big thumbs up to Mike, very helpful with advise on which frame to buy.

Loving the pics 😀
What kind of weights are your builds coming in at?

I've got a donor Boardman HT with some Crests waiting...

slight hijack - why does Rocketdog's have bracing tube near the head tube and the rest don't?

earlier model or later model?

Still think the mk1 looks the best

Always been put off trying one coz I think the head angle looks steep, I may be talking nonsense though 🙂 Is it steeper than a 456 with the same forks?

Here is my freshly built up Classic. Pretty much all SLX with the exception of the ZEE rear mech. Pikes up front and Thomson finishing kit. Next thing to go on it will be my Gravity Dropper or a new Ks Lev.

That is a lovely shade of blue on the classic.

BTW can anyone tell me why it's called Prince Albert? He did all sorts of good stuff, but I can't see any connection with his main claim to fame. None of the bikes appear to have holes in odd places or ..er.. unusual jewellery.

Now into its third year of use and still happy with it, no idea of weight: light enough to pedal, strong enough not to break 😀

As you can see from Rocketdog's above, it originally had a extra bit of steel up front.

By the way, mine's even older than his.

Was yours pre production? As mine was on the first run I got to choose the colour too, Mike adopted it for the production run iirc

Thanks elliott, I've been wondering about that for ages.

I think the ones with the superfluous tube look much cooler. If they still had that I probably would have got one over my BFe. Just love the look of the older ones.

Heres my 15.5" one , was going to sell It but I'd struggle to buy a better hardtail for what I'd get for It.

Not sure whether to buy new decals or just keep It plain. ?

So who rides what frame size and how tall are you?
I'm hoping the 17" will be big enough to accommodate a 6 footer!

I'm 6' 2" and just managed to squeeze onto a 17" with a layback post and 65mm stem. It was a bit of a compromise but worth it as the 17" version was great to chuck around. At 6ft you'll be fine.

Those who like the extra tube of the original Prince Albert should have a look at the new Pipedream Prince Alpine, I mean, Moxie 😉

I started to build up the frame this afternoon but had to stop due to needing a few parts.

Things I need to do:

*run new gear cabling (inners/outers)
*route the brake hoses
*install the front mech and chain (when I can find a 31.8mm/28.6mm shim).
*put new wheels on (white superstar crests) which arrived after I took the photo :/
*find somewhere locally that stocks 30mm QR seat clamps
*index gears
*tighten bottom bracket as I couldn't find my BB tool!
*tidy leaves
*paint fence

Can't wait to get it finished!

Built up my new (to me) 520 PA frame a couple weeks back....

[IMG] [/IMG]

5'6" on a 15.5" frame with some old Fox Talas wound out to 130mm

Not ridden it in anger yet as till taking it easy recovering from broken wrist. Had a couple of gentle pootles and I'm liking it so far 8)

5`11" on a 17,so its nice and manoeuvrable.Having a 150 fork lifts bottom bracket nicely to help clear gnar in places. Love it to bits.Shames full sussers regularly 😆
