Just mulling over a new frame seeing as everything else has been changed now*.

So show me your new bikes,

*The alternative it just get the frame powdercoated as I'll be just as slow and fat on a new bike. And then spend the money on new stem/bars/saddle/post and soem spangly new wheels.

Currently on the shortlist;
Dolan - Ares

Fixie inc - Betty Leeds

Wait one month then I'll post mine. Its not new but once I've cleaned it and taken all the winter clobber off it'll seem like a new bike.

New chain, new rear wheel, replace the Conti Gatorskins with GPS4000s, replace the SPDs with Looks and my nice 'summer' shoes, mudguards off, might even treat it to a nice colour coordinated Salsa seat post collar and some fresh cable rub patches just to finish it off 8)

Bring on spring!

(another Cannondale b.t.w, CAAD9 in team colours)

Can't, unless you count 7 & 13 years old as new?

Heres mine, less than a year old so till kinda new. Gathering some bits to build a new pair of wheels, should take it to 14.5lbs, few other bits should see it <14. Rides great, very comfy.

I think Fixie Inc have gone bust/disappeared, so that might not work if you need after sales support.

Just finished my budget build (with the stem upside down):

[img] [/img]

FlyXii FLX-FR-R02 frame (very very similar to the £699 Comtat Sablet frame from a couple of years ago).
Planet-X pro carbon forks from their sale
Tiagra hubs on Omega Rims from Planet X sale
Bargain Sora Groupset from somone upgrading a brand new bike

I will upgrade to carbon post and bars, better group and perhaps some china direct carbon wheels when the bug bites...In the meantime this far outstrips any other bike I could get for £450

PS Is it acceptable in road circles to cross over the inner gear cables on their way down the down tube? I used to build my MTBs like this BITD for better outer routing from the shifters but have never built a road bike before.

Try a CAAD10 105..... System six was always a bit of a funny one. may have a 54 Six 13 team frame for sale plus other bits.....

Is this being weighed on bathroom scales?

Full details can be found here.
http://weightweenies.starbike.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=83684&start=45

Spreadsheet weights were done with a combination of a luggage/fish scale and two sets of normal scales. Surprisingly when weighed with the luggage scales the spreadsheet weight was almost exactly the same, which kinda ratifies the accuracy.

A pair of Planet X 20mm carbon rims with some ebay 277gm hubs should see a 1000 odd gram wheelset, should save me a lb over the current set up. A new cassette, mech and chainset should help me go under 14lbs, theres also a substantial saving in the post but I likt he all WCS set up.

Been mincing round on this Surly Cross check for a few months now. Its even been off road. Its pretty nice, bit flexy and heavy but feels solid and does the job. If you're after a carbon road frame I may be tempted to sell my FM028 frame/forks/headset size 58 (if thats your size)

New bars count? Now to upgrade the rest of the bike (Giant defy Advanced) to an equivalent standard!

Too big for me but would be interested in what you think of it as I've been kind of tempted to do a little project with one
