don't you mean "old"? 🙂
yeah, you're right, can't really call it retro, seen as how its becoming more and more bastardised with strange set-ups components

bp - after the earlier eye melters, that's rather tastefully done. Like it.
Used to ride in Cornwall with a bike mechanic called Andy Holmes (Andy if you read this get in touch!) who had drops on the bike he used for the Polaris, I just put it down to him being from Manchester, seems it's contagious.
Nice bike though, BP.
Thanks. The white stem is black now, it was all had to hand at the time.
I did consider thins, but then thought i'll buy a cross bike, as for the cost i could sell the old mtb, and buy a cx bike. Much better!

no really, im quite well known in certain circles for trying "weird" things, its all in the spirit of shed style progress and tinkering, but those HORRIBLE things make baby jesus cry!

very very nice 😆
Grant's one is prettiest... singlespeedstu, a brown saddle? On that frame? Your eyes need looking at. 😉
As for that M2 Stumpjumper up there ^^^^, on which I love the frame, I'm less disturbed by the use of the drop bars than the fact that the owner is still using the original forks!
head to mtbr they have hunners of monstercross pics
Grant's one is prettiest.
In the land of the blind the one eyed man is king and you'd need to be blind to think either were actually pretty. 😉
The only picture on this thread that gave me hope for the world was the one where some kind soul tried to lynch SSStu's bike in a tree
I just don't get it.................. Why?
Do you use drops on a road bike, or do you just not "get" drops? 🙂
Sam from Singular has a LOT to answer for.... 🙂
I think that they all look really cool... the people dissin them must not realise that they are by far the fastest on smooth or muddy trails... cyclo cross is keepin it real!
Mine too (grant,Stu) sorry the pics not all outdoorsy but i do have my custom rack mounts and hydraulic brakeset 🙂
