new ebay frame has significant cable rub on the seat tube.
a definate divot.
its not gone all the way through obviously (that really would put me off buying it).
i figure a couple of things.

its on the seat tube. some bikes dont even HAVE seat tubes. so the forces will be fairy low and should only be up and down not lateral or twisting.
the seat post actually extends past this point when at the correct height.
its going to be ridden fairly softly by "her indoors"

tell me its aallll going to be fiiine.

Cable rub you say...

The frame was retired after this. I was transferring the bits to build up a Mojo when i found this. I also found a massive crack in the rear cast drop out and the weld around the top shock mount...

I have a deep groove rubbed into the crown on my forks. They haven't broken yet and that happened in 2007.

Its amazing what the cable can rub through. You would think the outer would wear through long before that amount of damage happened to the frame.
