I want one as my kids are into boarding and scooting, and I hate standing there like an idiot, but don't know what to get!

I've bought a felt off eBay for £20, the frame looks good as do the wheels, I plan on spraying these and the bars. I will replace everything else with bits off crc, whole thing should come in for less than £100.

Race or trick? For race pure are amazing looking bikes. Ted James bmx frames are also bloody incredible 🙂

I used to ride bmx a few years back, wish I still had my kink for those odd days of playing around on one.

Sunday:

Then bought this kink frame off a friend:

When I was about 8 or 9 years old I spent a whole summer thinking about this bike and very little else (the exceptions being Michelle Lovering and cider)

This was mine and I wish I didn't sell it despite me never riding really. Was an awesome spec and looked the tits.

[img] [/img]

I sold my Model C the other day as well so I feel like I've said goodbye to my childhood. I'll probably end up building my dream bmx (barcode, trendkill or a deluxe) when I've got my house sorted out properly though.

I love bmx's that look like this

Already have another tab open, looking at possible BMX purchases!

2013 rerun of the old classic. There was one of these in the window of Armstrongs bike shop in the 'boro when I was a kid and I so lusted after it. Ended up with a Firebird Freestyler a couple of years later instead. Would still a love PK Ripper now...although they've sullied the name by making some ridiculous fixe ****t bike and calling it a PK Ripper more recently.

The stock KMC half link chain snapped on mine today, 3rd run in at the skatepark, ****ted both knees into top tube 🙁 hasty drive home & a rummage in the spares bin produced an old SS KMC510HX, so fitted that and had an hour of mini radness 🙂 My sons stock KMC chain also was found to have several links with breaks in, luckily his didn't snap on him!

How can a bmx need "a lot" of work?! 😀

Slight hijack. I'm looking for a bmx video on youtube, starring a gothic looking rider with skinny jeans. He hurts himself quite spectacularly jumping off roofs. Anyone know his name?

My restored Raleigh Burner, started out like this:
[img][/img]
Stripped and looked like this:
[img][/img]
And after a fair bit of time, money and effort:
[img]http://[/img]

I should never have sold this.... took me years to get just right...

WeThePeople Pony
19" Toptube and ultra short back end, used for flatland/street/ramp riding.
Odyssey Milk Bars (more knee room for flatland), Thermal forks, Standard Industries flipped and shaved stem. Odyssey Monolever. DiaCompe Hombre Fiesta brakes (when they came out!). Primo Hemerroid saddle and post. Profile Racing cranks and racing spider with Tioga blue ring, front wheel G-Sport on Sun rim, rear is Static Freecoaster (with Standard industries heat treated axle and 11t Graveyard welded on drive cog, cutom tuned internals (by me!)). T1 dual metal rear pegs and Standard Hand Grenades (I think copies) on the front.

Cost me about £1300 BITD, sold it for about £400 IIRC, really really wish I could have it back.... 🙁

Nice!
Incidentally if anyone works / lives near Preston I sometimes go to Preston BMX track at lunchtimes. If anyone wants to join me in a 'too old for this really but lets give it a go' session then give me a shout.

I'm in Fulwood, and occasionally (although I've been too busy lately) ride at the London Road track 🙂

Fancy an evening ride some time?

Ah cheers xiphon, unfortunately though I live outside of Preston and can't make it back in for an evening session. If you (or anyone) can make a lunchtime session then email me "Steve.Taylor3 AT lancashire.gov.uk".

How do you like the track changes made last year?

Why do modern BMX's look so shite. PK Rippper, quadangle and Haro freestyler in white my all time faves. Hutch made some crackers too.

Oh and the Robinson Cruiser was also lovely.

So our new toy had an outing tonight. Youngest OAB has taken a real shine to it - he was noticeably higher and higher and faster and further on it...yet to have take-off properly, but I reckon at the rate he is going it can only be a few weeks off...

Eldest still wanted the 'comfort' of his bike...
