Love my skanky old FBM but I fancy something super-fast which I can polish to within an inch of it's life . . .

Mmmmm 😛

It's a street bike modified for the track (cost £10 to convert!) And it's a little weapon! Regular rider down at Preston Pirates BMX track.... most likely racing in Expert next season 🙂

Haro 300.3, 20.5", 25/9 gearing.

Zedsdead's track is Clydebank, isn't it? I thought it looked familiar!
Anyway, Zedsdead should have a word with his sons, they look awfully far off the ground in those pics. It looks dangerous and probably should be banned! :p

T1 Barcode was the creation of Taj Mihelich and somebody else.

They were ace street/park frames back in the 90s. I remember reading Ride Mag, with big double-page spreads of Mihelich doing ridiculous gaps/airs...

I'm looking at getting a bmx off my mate.

Needs new transmission so what's a good ratio for dirt these days?

T1 Barcodes are awesome, I always wanted one.

Just got myself a new bmx, not really a race bike but it's made for trails rather than street/park so it sort of qualifies! Gearing wise this is 27-9 which seems nice and quick. Need a lever with less reach or with reach adjust though, anyone have any ideas?

Close, Exeter. It's a nice track, although I prefer Gosport.

Cheers all 😀

Gearing wise this is 27-9 which seems nice and quick

Blinkin' hard work if you encounter any hills though I guess, or is it just me that has to take the hilly route everywhere (and I thought 39/14 was hard work)

U could never ride an alu bmx.....it's just not right.

Hmmmmm, I've always ridden steel . . . maybe I should just lighten up the FBM 😕

Keep the pics coming though.

My standard is 21lbs....not racebike light but seeing as the frame/fork/bars/hubs all have unconditional lifetime warranty's it's not too bad.

Pigface, another south Wales local here, have you hit a link to those plans, just started playing with BMX what with Llanfi bmx track just opened down the road it seemed a shame not too, had a good laugh there yesterday afternoon, just need to find a bike now....

Any ideas for a 5ft 10inch bloke who likes pie? Ideally 21inch top tube.....

No I haven't - are they online anywhere? I was thinking of taking a ride over yesterday funnily enough to see if they'd started yet. Wish they'd considered a pump track too 😕 - still haven't managed to get over to the Maindy one.

can't decide, I'm liking john deere green at the mo. its hard trying to think of what will match the red parts and not look too dark.

I'm 32yrs young and love my race bike. I don't get to the track often enough due to work and the nearest track is either Warsop or Rotherham, both arent just down the road.

Great fun riding to work! Really fancy a PK Ripper

bmx will probably help with this as there's no suspension to save you if you mess up so you're forced to get it right 😀

Hmmmmmm, what to do. Build up something around one of these two frames with parts poached from the FBM for the time being (although that would mean a new rear wheel or at the very least a hub swap . . . and new brake/bottom bracket/seatpost) 😕 . . .

[img] [/img]
/p>

[img] [/img]

Or keep the FBM as it is and go for an entry level race bike as well 😛 . . .

Mmmmmmm . . .

Well I decided to go for the GT in the end. Buying just a frame would've meant quite a bit of extra expense in parts, probably necessitating the sale of the lovely little FBM which I couldn't bring myself to do and hey, it was the cheapest option too 😀 . Ordered an inline post and white pedals as well so if anyone's after a new 27.0 layback post and black flat pedals you know who to call 😉 . Ooooooh parcels . . .

3 bikes is just enough isn't it? 😉

Yep, that Brew looks great 😛

My first proper BMX was a Curtis Pro - bought the frame heavily reduced back in the late 90s (when lightweight stuff was resigned to the bargain bucket) and build it up with a right mish-mash of odd parts ranging from heavy-ass but oh-so-cool at the time midschool Gusset bits and pieces to lightweight oldschool bargains 🙄 - loved it though.

Still no racebike for me . . . yet. Swapped my order from the GT complete to the lovely DK frame, which despite being despatched a week ago is now stuck in parcel limbo 😕 . Never mind, the white pedals look great on my Blood 8)
