that Cotic Orange/Black dilemma I'm afraid (Yawn - I know, but come on, bikes nicked, you have to savour every decision when deciding how to spend the insurance money)

Prepared to be proved wrong here, but I've never seen a black bike look good with white wheels.

I like the white rims, everyone knows they're faster 😉 Flows also still clean up well after 2 years of abuse.

I think it looked great. Sadly I put a flatspot of the rear so now it's got a black rim. Which is now a pringle so I may go white again.

Ben/Dave - you need white bars fellas.

But Dave, that looks great. It's what I'm after on mine.

I've just added white Revs, white bars and a white fender bender to this:

And now it's too white at the front - so I need white rims to balance it out. Who makes nice builds with Stans?

I got my wheels custom built by Merlin on red Hope pro 2 hubs, they were not cheap at about £340 but the build quality has been spot-on. If you want black Hope hubs then Merlin are currently doing Hope Hoops for £295. Superstar come in cheaper at £220 with thier own Switch hubs and more hub colour options but from what I've seen on the forums, the build quality can be a bit hit and miss.

Not seen anything on here to change my opinion - every bike above would look better with black rims, IMO.

It is pretty nice. BFe ('classic') in XS.

Now has black rims though, and less white bits everywhere, so for comparison -

FWIW, I like both colour schemes but think if you go with white rims you need to balance it with white bits and pieces elswhere.

Brand new, fresh out of the box today.

22lbs 13oz though I'm hoping to trim that down further.

I think the white gear cables will have to go. The Elixr CR brakes definitely will along with the factory saddle.
