You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Enduro as in 6hrs riding, rather than 20 mins of shredding the gnar....
I decided to enter just for a bit of fun. It's fairly local and while I haven't ridden there before, I imagine the terrain will be similar to Thetford which I've ridden at for years.
It'll be nice to get out and put some miles in! Just hope the tons of rain we've had here in the last few days hasn't made it that far east!
Anyone else gonna be there?
I'm not racing it this year but I have ridden the course, you are going to find it a bit tougher than Thetford, it's about 500ft of climbing in the 6 mile lap, all very natural, very fast in places but the pace overall is lower than Thetford. It drains quite well but expect a few large puddles.
No one mentioned the 500ft of climbing!!
But at least there's the same going down.
Yeah, I'm racing it. Been doing a few practice laps the past few weeks and it's a good course, 517ft of climbing on the lap.
Rode it yesterday and it was greasy, no puddles but very slippy, we've had a downpour last night and more due around 1500. But it will dry out quick on track.
Good luck to all, I'll be on the singlespeed, carbon forked Halfords carrera.
[sulk] What?! 500ft of climbing per lap. I was expecting a nice little saunter round![/sulk]
Slippy, you say? Perhaps an almost bald Sauserwind on the back isn't gonna be the best! Whoops!
Oh well, should be a laugh anyway! I'll be on my carbon Stumpy FSR with full mudguard action....
You'll be fine, I've a bald xr2 up front and a race sport out back. It's a strange place in that some corners have loads of grip, others really don't. Managed to rope the wife into manning the sausage rolls/pork pies for 6 hours.
Just watching the live downhill for some tips.
How did we all get on, I managed 9 laps, and 5hrs 15, couldn't face that tenth, when we left I was 21St. Awaiting results to see. Didn't seem to be many on course in the last hour. Bloody tough going.
First 3 laps went well, got off the bike after the 5th for a rest and mu back went into spasms, found the best position was actually on the bike so ground some more out.
Utterly buggered, glad the wife was there with her motivational speeches.
Was it you stumpy that shouted singletrack Stu? Didn't see any one with guards.
I think I did 10, Strava says 86Km, 5:15. I could possibly have done one more but I was feeling pretty worn out, and didn't fancy doing it only to miss the cut off.
Great course, expect for the last bit (nothing wrong with it, just not nice at the end).
Well done guys, great place to ride isn't it.
I ride there at least 4 times a week normally as I only live 3 miles away, but after today I'm going to avoid it for a while, sick of the place now.
Yeah that last section was a killer, especially on the ss. Coming over the root into the open before the final bombhole I was nearly at a standstill the last few laps.
Yeah, it was me that called out. I recognised the SS Carerra!
Yeah....mudguards weren't really necessary were they so ditched them!
I only managed 6 laps. I did 3 laps, stopped for a banana then carried on, did 2 more and stopped for a Clif bar. Going out again I felt like my legs had just packed up!
I found the short, sharp hills hard going, coupled with the really draggy loamy sections!
I'm sure I could have managed one or two more at a crawl but it was no longer fun!
I was surprised by how tired my upper body was. I think a year of mainly road riding hasn't done my mountain bike form any good!
I really enjoyed the course....just a shame my legs didn't have more in them!
Chapeau, it's a killer that place, whoever says Norfolk doesn't have hills is wrong, it's a great place to train, and there are so so many variations to ride. I've probably 6 or 7 5 mile loops I do now. All around 500ft of elevation in a lap.

I'm from Tottenhill so just a few miles from the Warren. Moved away now, but my mum is still there. Whenever we visit, it's where I walk my dog, and I've often peeked with longing up the little ribbons of singletrack with tyre marks!
A really good day today albeit hard. It's the 2 time I've ridden the Enduro and I thought this course was the best.
A measly 6 laps for me but I was happy with that given the total lack of ride time this year (excuses, excuses 🙂 )
Stu ..... We spoke a couple off times whilst out on the laps ..... Kudos for SSing that course and embarssing us geared riders with namby pamby suspension forks 😆
I'm an hour from The warren but keen to get back there - that loam (dislike that word) was amazing!
