Just after a bit of advice before I can get anytime to get to a proper bike fit place.
Past couple of of rides I have been getting a sore neck and pain between shoulders after riding.
I am over weight but working on that and not the best of riders so some of this could come down to those factors.
I do however find I am putting too much pressure on my wrists when up in the saddle and when saddle is down and I am going on the twisty stuff I can feel I am lifting my head to look ahead of me.
Some of this could be because I am out of shape and just not using the right muscles enough yet but also could be small fit issues.
Thinking of maybe tilting the saddle back a bit to start with. Any other small changes to try bit by bit?
Bike rides great apart from the aches! Stock 60mm stem, 750mm bars with 15mm rise and all spacers under stem.
so reckon a physio is first port of call. And then some core work. I would also look at a shorter stem. Had the same but mine mainly down to shoulder issues after a big off in the lakes. Saddle wise - tilting it back will make it worse IMO.
750mm bars so I'm assuming mtb? 😂
Try some ergon bar grips. They will support your wrists and help with posture. It makes a real difference to me.
Also, what stretches do you do before and after a ride?
Is it the bike? Have you ruled out everything else? Bed, work station? Etc
How tense are you on the bike? Do you relax on the bike or hold on for dear life?
Yeah MTB lol. I’m not that relaxed as I do feel I have to lean on the bars to support my weight. So thinking something is just not quite set up for me.
I need to also start stretching before rides as no spring chicken!

Then do try moving the saddle back. Inline posts and steep seat angles on current MTBs pitch your weight fwd when riding in the saddle and your arms have to support it, leading to tense shoulders. Sounds like the front end is lower than ideal also - riser bars?

Better actually, ime and the experience of many others. It may not be the fix needed here but it's an easy one to try.
Will grab some cheap risers and adjust saddle as a starting point. If I go 30mm rise I can easily drop a spacer if it’s too much!
