Hi all,

hope you are all going to have a great easter weekend.
1st world problem!! My Shimano 12 speed has really suprised me with how good it is. After an iffy setup with a bent hanger and non Shimano chain, im impressed. Riding along its absolutely perfect, smooth, instant shifting and silent at any chainline. Backpedalling fast even on a stand is fine, never drops rings but feely really lumpy. Is this just the way it is, cant help me think somethings up.

In all gears? Or just to easiest / hardest gears?

All the gears, lumpy in reverse feels like it jumps a tiny bit every 3rd of a crank reveloution. Chain is slx with logos facing out and the right way up above the chainstay. indexing looks perfect from the back. Quicklink seems ok and doesnt catch. just feels awful backpedalling. On the 2nd xt rear mech as 1st one was bent, did it before. Mech hanger is good, i aligned it with a tool (was out from brand new).puzzled

Not sure where yours is bent but the 12spd Shimano mechs are supposed to have bent/twisted cages. It's to help the chainline by pointing inwards in a high gear and outwards in a low gear.

Mine does this too. In the stand you can see the chainring holding the chain a bit longer than it should when back peddaling. Don't really notice it on trails but do on the road. Hoping that it stops when the edges are knocked off.
