I have decided to sell my 2006 large Heckler but not sure what the best way to do it is. I need a medium framed bike to replace it. I am guessing that selling as parts would work out better even if it is a bit more hassle, or should i find a bike shop that would trade in my bike for something else?

1) you need a bike that fits you - everyone makes bikes that are not the same, medium in one is large in another and small with somebody else
2) if the bits are knackered then flog the lot if not see what frame deals are about
3) now 26 is ************** then see what deal on a new bike you can get

In my experience:

Trade in = less hassle / less money

Selling as a complete bike privately = slight more hassle / slightly more money

Selling as parts privately = more hassle / more money

If you have the time and the energy then selling as parts usually gets you the most cash, if you just want a new bike and quick then trade in is better.

Pretty much what i was thinking. The parts are not knackered, all have under 250 miles on them, some considerably less than that. I have been thinking frame only, but also thinking if i sold the lot i might get a 'last years model' for a decent price. Also don't mind second hand so a lot to think about. The bike shops.round here don't have a website where you can see what bikes they stock so it would be pot luck to what they have got - 1st to try out and 2nd to buy. Only moved here last week so haven't had time to visit lbs yet.

As above, I don't think you'd have much trouble moving a Heckler frame on though!

Well i just spoke to the lbs on the phone and got told he is not interested in my bike because full suspension bikes don't sell, but he will sell me one if i wanted one.

" got told he is not interested in my bike because full suspension bikes don't sell,"

How much would you be looking for your frame if you sell?

Was thinking of around the £200 + post mark. Otherwise feel free to make me an offer if this seems a bit high.
