Toying with getting a new bike been mostly looking at 26" bikes but I did see a small framed 29'r in a shop the other day that would fit the bill, but I have always considered 29'r for taller folk..
What's the consensus?
No. Willow Koerber and Emily Batty race them at c5'2"
The wheels don't care what height you are.. the frame design may do though.
5'8" and I have two 29ers. I think the smaller sizes look better anyway! 😉
Had you thought about 24" wheels?
Depends if your happy looking like your riding your dads bike
you'll probably grow into it. 😉
Try one first.
I am a errrr, tinsy too and loving 29ers 😉
I'm 5'7" and, having ridden a couple of 29ers now, am convinced they are the best thing for my riding. In some brands, I fit on a Medium sized frame, so they are definitely being designed for shorter folk.
5"10 and i am quite comfy on my 29..
standover height is same as my 26
5' 8.75" here, & my medium Niner fits better than any bike I've had.
If your anywhere near Lichfield your welcome to a cuppa & a quick spin.
You've just give me another excuse to google Emily Batty, mmmm thanks 😉
I'm 5'9|", just borrowed a 29er to try, loved it and am building one up
Nope 5'8" here on a Superfly, and my saddle looks 'right' relative to the bars and I'm not even close to toe overlap either. Trek Superfly 100 in a 17.5" btw
Was wondering this as well , Im 5'9" and got a 15.5" prince Albert which Is much more fun than my old 18" 456. Wondered If getting a smaller frame 29 er would have the same effect.
Smaller top tubes seem to make hardtails more fun within reason.
It depends on how you like to ride. I'm 5'9" and I find my 29er great for racing and covering distance but the 26er is better for anything trialsy or playful.
i sold my Niner Air 9 to a 5'7'' guy and he loved it, until he got happy slapped at Glentress 😆
