My Nukeproof generator 20mm-15mm QR conversion kit has arrived. I've swapped the axle cups over, but noticed that the bearings had literally no grease on them.
This is a brand new wheelset, and the rear wheel was greased - am I missing something or is this not right?
Sounds like the bearing manufacturer is trying to cut costs and not put any grease in (or a very minimal amount). This is annoyingly common. Bearings should have grease (someone correct me if they no of any that don't). I've always used finish line which seems pretty good. There are more environmentally friendly greases out there now. Not tried any yet so cannot recommend.
Not wanting to re-start an old debate but...
The bearings used are not spec'd for mtb use (IMO) and so have little grease in them. MOre grease is better, though you may damage the seals taking them off to put in grease - not been a problem for me (to my knowledge)
I ALWAYS put more grease in.
Yeah, followed my intuition and packed em with grease........Nukeproof oh dear 🙄
