Hi,

Not sure i will have a clear answer to that but I like to buy myself a new hardtail frame (as a treat). I have already an alu frame, old Trek 6500 (no disk brake mount, so I believe that's old), and I thought I can upgrade the frame. Should I go for Ti, Steel, Alu again or Carbon? I'm doing mainly long XC rides and the occasional singletracks in the local wood(s)/trail centers.

Thanks,

Gilles

I've got hardtails in Ti, steel and Alu and it's the steel ones that get the most use.

I'd go for a nice steel one myself, unless you've got loads of cash and the get a Ti one
