I have Just got a new scott e-genius and realised I have not had a key for the battery. I received a bag with some reflectors and a sag guide but no key. Should I have one do you think?
When I bought my other scott it came with loads of bits and pieces including the valves for going tubeless. I didnt get anywhere near as much stuff with the e-genius. Any body else bought an e-genius 2018? What did you get with it?
Cheers Mike

Why would you need a key?
To start the engine, obvs
If it has a lock, you should have a key.
Deffo need a key if you have to remove battery to charge up?
My Bosch battery had 1 key but I struggled to get a blank so ended up getting a second key from the manufacturer in Europe.
I got two with my Shimano motored bike.
I am going to double check the bags when I get home to save some later embarrassment and then email the shop. I guess they are all unique and not one key fits all?
I got 3 keys with my (Bosch) ebike.
Not familiar with Steps, but unless it’s not lockable, then yes you should at least 2 keys supplied with it.
Yes, so you can remove the battery & charge it away from the bike.
Mrs M's steps has 2.
My bosch equipped ebike also came with 2 keys.
scott e-spark, shimano motor here
I got 2 keys and a small bit of rubber with a lip on it(handlebar sized hole) (*the lh grip on mine is integrated to the susp lockout switch and the rubber is reqd if you want to use non syncros grips or move lever I believe), also suggest checking that with battery locked in you can't pull the battery out, mine didn't lock in properly.
Top tip. (*Assumming front facing lock and battery plug) the small, stubby, bolt on syncros mudguard fits brilliantly, looks really cool and is ime considerably less useful than a chocolate teapot at keeping mud off. I'd get a battery cover or I use a piece of DPC bolted and taped above battery and held on at bottom by very small bungee - very uncool but both ports are kept mud free.
Other tip - keep eye on rear swingarm susp 'bolts' - reports on other forums of them dropping out.
you should get a key, a charger and a massive manual
