I'm very tempted. My current fun/play bike is a Kona Coiler from about 2007, and I feel I need an upgrade. If you bought one in the past year or so, what are your thoughts on it? Any regrets? 🙂

Some pics of your Megas would be appreciated too! 26" ones also accepted 😀 .

A bit out of my price range! Even the cheaper models. 😥

Last week I was very close to buying a Mega TR frame but I thought I'd wait and see if they came down in price any more. They're now £100 more 😐 Bugger.

Yes they are a brilliant bike but the standard Monarch shock is rubbish, budget in a replacement if you buy second hand its probably worth getting it tuned too, to get the best out of the bike.

I Love my 2013 Mega AM, and the monarch shock on mine still works brilliantly after 7 months of jumping and dropping abuse, try one then buy one, HTH

Oh yes. Still, if you take off 10% from the new figure, it goes down to almost exactly what they were last week...almost like they're upping the price for an upcoming 10% discount offer!

...and with 24 of the black/yellow mediums left and 40 of the silver mediums, they still have a bit of stock to shift

Yes you should, then give me first refusal on your Kona if you're selling it! 😀

I love mine, got the 26" large TR about 2 months ago. Have ridden a few trail centers and it's a ripper. I've also ridden it at Aston hill a few times and it swallows everything up there well enough (maybe that's because I've only ever really ridden hard tails there before though).

Go for it.

Loving my TR - replaced a Covert climbs and descends great. No issues with Monarch, love the fact that it locks out

built two years ago, i think i picked up a frame between the first batch which iirc had some chainstay snappy issues, and the AM/TR?wtf versions which followed later in 2012(?) - £699

the standard shock, monarch rt3 is fantastic, i'm 11st most of the complaints seem to come from 'better built' chaps. the frame climbs really well for a big susser, either design or geo who knows or cares, short TT, this one is a medium and im 6'0". It goes down like the MH370 The NP headset has been a dream its winter service shows its like new, the pivots have needed no attention and have no play. the forks are 2008 fox 36 vans 160mm, have had nothing except annual oil changes and are still sweet. 823rims - whatever anyone says pi$$ all over anything stans have produced. rear maxle hasnt snapped, tho its a straight one, not a 'stepped' one. Reverb has only done a year so far, but again without issue. Bonty XR4s - soo good the rear one is only just hanging together and i cant bear to change it, again now the slightly dated version, but for 2.2s they come up HUGE, roll well and never had a shortage of grip. Hope M4s - nuff said

i highly recommend - the only issue i see is that there are so many 'versions' i dont know which one this is

Prior to the spring Wales trip a couple of weeks back

I think that's the idea for the TR - good for everyday local stuff, but able to take on some bigger riding too. It's certainly not XC light though!

I've had two Meg-i now, had a small originally but swapped it for a medium. It's a great bike, does everything.
1x10, 32-40t, Reverb, wide bars... excellent.

In it's spiritual homeland

I bought a 26inch version (AM) in the CRC sale in Feb.

Originally for the Alps and BPW etc, but it's actually a really fun, involving trail bike. The forks are 2nd hand and fantastic. Weighs about 32lbs I think but climbs pretty well and is obviously more than capable going down. I'm going to take it to BPW when I get some spare time, but quite happy riding it round the FoD/Yat in the meantime.

So yeah, buy one 🙂

Love the green powder coating Kayak23, looks classy. It's a small thing, but I've never really liked the standard Nukeproof decals / paintjobs.

with a dropper post they dont get on well with a bikestand.
the decals (on my old one) are an absolute mare to remove - hence half still on.
