Built up my Orange Five with old parts and new frame. Used a 100mm FSA 6deg stem. Rode fine IMHO but many people, some with Fives, said go for a 70mm stem (Thomson Elite X4 70mm No rise). I put it off untill I could justify it then went for the plunge. WOW - so responsive and good on the descents too and the climbing (70mm with no rise) quality has not changed much either! RESULT - I am a bit slow in changing things - like to give them a change first. Just thought I would share.

now gotta get brave and go 50mm for true fast synapse like response requirements 🙂

I went down to 40mm on my Five - it was like the steering response was hard wired to my brain! F*cking crap on the climbs so settled at 60mm. 😀

Yup - wanted a balance between climbing and descending as I do a lot of both in Devon 😉
