Has anyone tried a shorter I to I shock on their 5, 190x50 is fitted now, anyone tried a 165x38 , slacker and lower would be the aim, why just to try it!! 😀

provided that you have enough tyre clearance on full travel(tyre hitting seat tube), you should be ok.

all it will do is....like you say, lower the bb, slacken things off a tad, and give less rear travel

Thanks transporter, seems quite a big jump from a 190 to 165 but I can't find a shock inbetween 🙂

no worries bud...the next shock length down is the 165x38..

it might be an idea to let all air out of both shocks..compress them both fully...measure both i2i measurements....this will tell you how much(if any) closer the rear tyre will get to the seat tube on full compression

Get mojo to fit a shorter shock body-same stroke,same travel but shorter eye to eye length...joy!(see Jons Ghost update).
Or offset bushes...reducers with the hole drilled off centre,buy some 22mmxM6 reducers and redrill for M8 on the piss.Will only get you 5-6mm ...but cheaper than sending it to mojo.
