Spoken to 2 or 3 people recently who seem pretty interested in getting into mountain biking. There's a lot of potential for local natural riding around here, so they're not too bothered about driving miles to a trail centre. They've done the disused railway line type rides, but find 'em a bit boring. They don't really have a clue what 'poper' mtn biking is all about - and like an addict, I've enthused at them 😳 and tried to give them an idea what natural trail riding is all about - and they're probably not much wiser from my over excited babbling!
I wondered if it'd be more useful for them to see a quick 3 or 4 minute YouTube/Vimeo vid to give them a flavour for natural UK mountain biking. A couple of the people in question are late 50's ish and not hyper-fit, so nothing too 'rad' - something that'll encourage rather than put 'em off.
Can anyone suggest any relevant videos please?
p.s. one of the ladies is a fitness instructor and roadie, so she's quite interested to see what 'proper' mtn biking is, because a couple of guys have asked her to put together weights workouts relating to their biking.
Hey, thanks for the link. This one seems pretty good
Good how it's a mixed male-female group on mixed terrain.www.vimeo.com/17740455
Think it's safe to say that some of the full face helmet type vids might put 'em off 🙂
