Anyone know of a short, gravel-bike length fork with tyre clearance for a 29er wheel? (that don't cost a fortune...)
Soma Wolverine forks are about the only thing I can find: (400mm a-c, clear a 2.1" 29er tyre). And pretty hard to get hold of.
EDIT: I posted some Thorn one's yesterday, but they're a touch too long.
If you don't need a tapered steerer, then I do know Surly CrossCheck forks easily clear 2" tyres, so I would assume Straggler forks would do the same with discs. Otherwise, custom? Shorten some On One rigid forks?
Ah, great, thanks, I just found a pic with a 2.2" Ikon in a Straggler fork, so may be that's another option.
I didn’t think 29in went into 400mm forks. If it did I would have gone shorter on the Bootzipper 29 so people fitting suspension would have an even worse ride.
3t luteus ii will unofficially take a 2.1 apparently..... It has huge clearance.
400 a to c, 50mm rake

I'm all in favour of that 🙂
The largest official clearance short fork I've found is this:

405mm a-c with clearance for a low-tread 29x2.6
(in fact, I guess if you gave a fork a big enough offset you could make it as short as you wanted...)
Surly Disc Trucker fork is 390mm, I’ve had 2.0” 29er tyres in it with space for a bit more.
Surly fff (fit for fatties) long hail trucker. What a great bike
Bloody hell, these would have done it for £20!
